I'm a Marriage and Family therapist (LMFT) and clinically trained art therapist (ATR). I'm also certified in eye movement desensitization and reprocesssing therapy (EMDR). I'm independently licensed in New Mexico.
I went back to school late in life at age 50 years old to study therapy at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. I graduated with my MA in 2005. My undergraduate degree is in Fine Arts. I received my BA from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA. I graduated from Portales High School in Portales, NM.
My husband and I moved to the Land of Enchantment, Albuquerque, NM, in 2008 from southern California. I'm also a Vietnam era veteran (US Army) and an "army brat."
My specialities are EMDR therapy and clinical art therapy. However, I do my best to meet the needs of my clients, so I'm skilled in other forms of therapy, as well. My theoretical orientation and education is psychodynamic.
I combine my therapy skills with compassion, empathy and a sense of humor in order to support you as you begin a journey towards self-awareness and healing. Trust, faith, and a spirit of openness guides us along the way.
You saved me once, and what is given is always returned. We are in this world to help one another.
